Oops, almost forgot my layout

Almost forgot to post my layout that I made using so many of the kits in the Designer Challenge

The very first Mousescrappers Designer Challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was honored this past month to take part in Mousescrapper's first ever Designer Challege.  We were given a color swatch and a few guidelines.  Over 35 participants worked to create this mega kit of papers, templates, elements, and wordart.

This was my first real attempt at designing.  But it was so exciting.  I had to step out of my comfort zone.  But what a great place to do it.  The colors of the swatch immediately inspired me to create a mini kit based on the adorable Disney elephant Dumbo.  Here is my part of the mega kit~

It's an amazing kit that you will find a million uses for.  Head on over to Mousescrappers and add it to your designing collection.

Some of us designers were having so much fun that we couldn't stop.  So we created freebies just for you.  Jump on over to the DC1 Blog Hop (When you hop, be sure to leave some love for the designers.  So many of them, like me, are first time designers).

The next challenge I worked on was for Weekly Challenge #111 .

2. Use at least 5 different papers (I forgot about this while I was working.  So I only have 3-oops)
3. Your title has to be in at least 2 fonts/alphas (50's Prime Time is displayed in 3 or 4 different fonts around the layout)
4. You need to put a date on your page (Done)
5. At least 5 different elements (this can be 5 different flowers, buttons etc)

This is a 2 page layout from 50's Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios

It All Started With A Mouse

Well, I've been saying I'm going to scrapbook, but things keep coming first (homeschool, church, grocery shopping, cooking).  I type it as my status, but it never becomes a reality.  But tonight, I finally had my external hard drive ready to go, and some time after church....so I took part in a weekly challenge over at Mousescrappers.  Scrap challenges are always fun. They make you think outside the box, and I usually end up with a layout I never would have designed otherwise.
The instructions of the challenge were:
1. I want no more than two photos.
2. No more than five papers.
3. No title.
4. No journaling (Dates and date elements are perfectly fine)
5. Ten or less different elements...you may repeat the same element but only count it one time

This is what I came up with:

Mousescrappers Challenge #97

WOW, what a challenge.  Lisa, over at MouseScrappers hosted this weeks challenge.  We had quite a few requirements when creating the page.  But it was fun.

She had some simple rules and then some a bit more difficult, including:

1-Create a layout or double page spread of something Disney Related to flight, and/or having to do with overcoming adversity. Or anything that relates to "Soarin High". Heat, Ticket Prices, The airplane ride, etc...As soon as I heard the word Soaring, I started humming "Let's Go Fly A Kite" (Lets go fly a kite and send it soaring...

2  Use at least 70 different things on your page. (Paper, embellishments, flowers, pictures, borders, frames, etc) I didn't know where to go with that.  That's a lot of things.  Lucky for me she added an amendment.  You can count each letter of your title as an element. You could make a REALLY LONG TITLE. So I thought of one of the longest words I know, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and thus my theme became Mary Poppins!!!!

You may notice one 'thing' out of place.  Atop one of the pieces of sheet music, little Miss Tinkerbell has landed herself a seat.  You see we also had to use at least one "misfit" scrapping item you have that "doesn't fit in.  Luckily she changed her outfit to coordinate with the page colors.

Hope you enjoy this double page spread.
